Kumar Vishvas became a professor in Rajasthan in 1994. He has taught Hindi Literature to higher class students at Lala Lajpat Rai College for the last sixteen years.
Vishvas has written Hindi poetry using the Shringara-Ras (Romantic Genre). He wrote the Kul-Geet (university anthem) of Chaudhary Charan Singh University. He has supported the anti-corruption movement led by Anna Hazare and on 16 August 2011 this support caused his arrest.
Vishvas has performed regularly at Kavi sammelan both in India and abroad. Venues have included the IIT Roorkee, Jamia Millia Islamia New Delhi, MNNIT Allahabad, NIT Patna, IIM Lucknow, NIT Jalandhar, NIT Trichy, BITS, Pilani, LNCT Bhopal, Kumar Vishwas has participated in poetry recitations and functions abroad including the USA, Dubai, Singapore, and Japan.
As of 2012, Vishwas is a member of the national executive of the Aam Aadmi Party.
